rob started his career in the united states marine corps in 1990. as a marine, he participated in teamwork 92, the last allied cold weather war games aimed at the soviet union. rob's duties also included telecommunications, application development, system architecture and technical leadership, which brought him to places throughout europe, asia and the united states.
after the marine corps, rob worked as an independent consultant, delivering solutions that focused on metrics-driven results. in 2006 rob founded makibie, a product strategy company that fused great design, agile development and product development into a single service.
in 2009, rob wrote "how to grow an ¡dea: an agile approach to building great web applications that work." the book describes rob's revolutionary qc process for conceiving, drafting, validating, building and measuring mission-critical web applications for fortune 500 businesses.
at wuhu, rob is helping to create a new product that focuses on how the traveler thinks.
andy's job is to form lasting, mutually beneficial alliances for wuhu and our partners. andy is a seasoned business and product development professional with extensive experience developing technology-driven products and services for businesses and consumers. his startup work spans a broad spectrum, highlighted by the development of new products in the financial services, hr outsourcing and employee benefits and defense industries. andy has also led online strategy teams for two fortune 500 companies. prior to wuhu, andy held senior roles including: managing director at makibie corporation, vice president of product strategy at fidelity investments, director of web strategy at mellon and director of marketing at granitar incorporated. andy started his r&d career in the us air force where he led the development of ground support systems for the joint stars surveillance aircraft.
burc began his travel adventures as a tour guide in the ancient greek ruins, climbing down early christian cave dwellings, and shuttling between ottoman architectural sites. he was a tour planner and operator in turkey until he decided to pursue science. his love for number crunching, which started with his sinclair zx spectrum, led him to leave academia in favor of the commercial world, including amadeus e-travel management, where he was technical lead. he comes to wuhu with a broad experience in large-scale system architectures, systems engineering and software development. his work has stretched sectors of defense, finance, health, records management and digital archiving, e-commerce, travel, insurance and product data management, including companies such as dell/harvard-pilgrim, general dynamics, cover4me, cellexchange, j.p. morgan investment, health and human services/commonwealth of massachusetts, iron mountain, iona technologies, parametric technology and fidelity investments. burc holds a ph.d. in geophysics from massachusetts institute of technology.
jim joined mckinney in 2003 from circle.com in boston, where his work for the online launch of the mini cooper was named most innovative marketing campaign of the year by business 2.0. jim hired the teams and created the structures that helped reinvent mckinney as the first major agency to integrate digital into existing disciplines rather than as a separate business unit. as a result, 90% of mckinney's frontline staff today is active in creating and managing integrated digital efforts that include online advertising and crm, social media, interactive brand experience, mobile and site design. jim started his career at accenture, first working in artificial intelligence and then at their center for strategic technology in palo alto. jim is a graduate of the university of wisconsin at madison.
for nearly 20 years, terry has been the ceo and general managing partner at synecticsworld, an international firm of consultants who specialize in the processes of innovation and the management of change. to make possible the intersection of executive leadership, strategy and organizational behavior, terry provides executive coaching and private consulting, as well as strategy and organizational development. he also runs synectics' software spinoff flyingtable, llc, which helps people anywhere, anytime collaborate and innovate. his previous experience includes ceo, coo and cfo positions in banking and manufacturing. terry earned a master of science in management with honors from stanford, where he was a sloan fellow.
currently the managing director of operations at the gores group, a private equity firm that has acquired 80 companies worldwide with combined revenues in excess of $15 billion, lee is responsible for overseeing the portfolio company and leading operational due diligence efforts. before joining gores he was a managing partner at another private equity firm, bridgetown capital partners; president of nike affiliates, where he was responsible for nike's portfolio of affiliate business and leading all m&a activities; and executive vice president/chief operating officer of $5 billion apparel wholesaler/retailer gap. lee has also served in numerous leadership roles in finance, operations and strategy with gateway, honeywell and ford motor company. while at ithaca college earning a b.s. in finance, lee was also member of the ncaa iii swimming team. shortly thereafter, he graduated summa cum laude with an mba from babson college in wellesley, massachusetts.
brad has led durham, north carolina-based mckinney since 2002. since his arrival, mckinney has more than doubled in size by building one of the most innovative business models in the advertising industry, one that blurs the line between traditional and digital media. as a result, mckinney has been recognized as one of the best agencies in the country by advertising age. in 2008, brad led a management buyback of the agency from french holding company havas. before joining mckinney, he spent two decades at global advertising giant leo burnett in chicago, rising from trainee to ceo of leo burnett usa. he is on the board of the american association of advertising agencies (4a's) and founding chair of the interactive advertising bureau's (iab's) agency advisory board. an anthropology major at dartmouth, where he rowed on the varsity crew and was editor in chief of the humor magazine, brad also earned a finance mba from columbia.
paul is a shareholder of devine millimet, a full-service law firm offering legal counsel to businesses and individual clients throughout new hampshire and all of new england. his current practice focuses primarily on intellectual property and regulation of financial institutions. paul began practicing with the premier public contracts law firm in washington, where he represented companies around the country in disputes with the federal government, including more depository institutions in northern new england than any other lawyer. today, paul is actively following the creation of the consumer finance protection agency and is on the u.s. district court mediation panel list. before becoming a lawyer, paul was an assembly language programmer when a "deck of cards" was used for something more than playing poker. the founder and past chairman of the intellectual property section of the new hampshire bar association and a cum laude graduate of the university of michigan law school, he also rows competitively and refuses to wear a tie.
since july 2010, paul has been the ceo of queensland rail, an integrated passenger and rail infrastructure business. paul's main focus is on directing and controlling business and operational activities, providing leadership by developing and implementing high-level strategies, and making major corporate decisions. he is also the main point of communication between the board and corporate operations and represents queensland rail in high-level dealings with the queensland government. previously he led the business as interim ceo through the transition to separate qr limited's passenger services and track assets from the coal and freight businesses. paul's outstanding management and leadership record is evident in his previous roles with qantas, american express, ansett, tourism queensland and flight centre.
